The One Upped as HTC announces HTC One M8

HTC finally took the wraps off the much awaited HTC One (M8) in an event held in New York today. The device would be available on Verizon Wireless starting today in the USA. HTC has promised the device will be rolled out in over 100 countries by the end of April, calling it the largest rollout of any HTC device.

The event began with Peter Chou showing off the device which has an incremental design as compared to the HTC One. The M8 has a more rounded chassis as compared to the original One and a new dual Camera setup at the back. The secondary camera on the back would help in measuring the field details allowing you to differentially focus the images you click using the device. The M8 also comes with Sense 6.0 on top of Android KitKat 4.0.

HTC also opened the APIs of the redesigned Blinkfeed, Camera app as well as Sense TV to the developers so that they could tap the full potential of the apps. The new HTC M8 also has an improvised Zoe and a 5 MP front facing Camera for amazing selfies. From a hardware standpoint, the device has Snapdragon 801 on board and 3 GB RAM with 16 or 32 GB ROM with expansion via Micro SD card. The device also has Boomsound speakers which are 25% louder than the ones on the M7. Overall, the HTC M8 has made the amazing M7, even better. It would be interesting to see though, what would be the pricing strategy of HTC when the device finally hits the market this year.
