Samsung announced its latest flagship device, the Galaxy S V at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year. The device was an incremental update from the Galaxy S IV but bought along some new stuff like a fingerprint sensor as well as a heart rate monitor on the rear of the device. There is also a dimpled back on the device as Samsung resisted the temptation of going with a faux leather type finish. Samsung had announced at the
launch that the device would be available in all markets on or before April 11th.The device is set to be unveiled in India on March 27th. We received the invite for the event today, which said that the device would be announced at a press event in Delhi. It is unlikely that the phone would go on sale though, before the April 11th date.
The device features a 5.1 inch display which is a 1080 P res screen. There is a 16 MP rear camera and a Snapdragon 801 SoC with a 2 GB RAM. Both the 16 GB and 32 GB version of the device are expected to be rolled out in India for base price of about Rs. 40,000. We will be bringing you exclusive images as well as impressions of the device from the launch event in Delhi, so do stay tuned for that.
