Do you have a professional blog which has lot of visitors? How can you apologize to your visitor if you by mistaken publish any post without any category. By default that post got a category name “Uncategorized” this is sufficient to wash away your reputation.
WordPress comes with this default category “Uncategorized” which cannot be deleted. If any post published without any category then WordPress automatically assign a name to this category i.e. “Uncategorized” . So it is impossible to delete this category.
How to solve this problem
Suppose any blogger publish a post without any category then the post will come under “Uncategorized” category. We cannot delete this category but it is possible to rename it. To rename a category:
Go to WordPress Dashboard.
Go to Post> Category.
On the right side you will see the list of category. Click on the edit button of category.
Now an edit page will open. Rename the category to some other name. Let’s say we select “Other” as a category name. You can choose different category names according to your choice.
In category slug; fill “others”.
Now update the category
