Drop.io Lets You Share Large Files On the Web

UPDATE: Drop.io is no longer available. You may check our file sharing tools page to find other alternatives to this product.

Sometimes sending files through emails is not possible because of restriction in maximum file size. Also in Gmail you can’t send .exe files as an attachment.

Drop.io is a solution to this problem. It helps you create a “drop” which lets you upload any kind of media files and documents,  and then helps you share those files via a sharing URL with other internet users.

A drop is a space you can utilize to store and share any type of files (documents, picture, video etc) without any registration. Each file that is uploaded creates a unique URL which can be accessed by the people who know it. You can share that link with your friends and family members to share any files with them.

To drop a file choose any file of your computer you want to upload and press Create A Drop button.

You can set admin password to change the characteristics of a drop. Also you can provide a recovery email to recover your password or drop name.

Right click menu option provides lots of additional features like preview files, single page views, add comments, download, get the link URLs, get the embed code, rename or delete file, edit image, send files via email, SMS, fax etc.

You can browse through various settings and customize your drop accordingly. You can upgrade drop to higher version, get details, rename drop, associate drop with webmaster tool, destroy drop, customize (design, logo, sidebar, description) drop,Email setting, RSS setting and lots of other options available.

You can also Follow Drop.io on Twitter and  Facebook.
