Samsung Galaxy S5 Available in India for Rs 51,500

After the device was launched in India last month, the latest Samsung flagship device, the Galaxy S V went on sale in India today, as promised at the launch of the device for Rs 51,500. The price of the device was a topic of long drawn debate after Samsung had only announced a range of Rs 51,000 to Rs 54,000 for the launch of device in India. Finally, the real price of the device has officially been known after the device went on sale today. To mark the occasion, Samsung held a consumer event in Delhi to mark the occasion.

The event was attended by Mr Vineet Taneja, the Head of Mobile Operations for Samsung as well as actress Lisa Haydon. Not just the Galaxy S5, other devices such ass Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo as well as the Gear Fit went on sale officially today. Some are still not happy with the pricing of the device, and given the history of Samsung devices in the past, we can expect a price cut on the S5 in about a couple of months.

Given that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is available only in 16 GB variant in India and no support for LTE as well as the SoC in the device is an Exynos one rather than the Snapdragon 801, the pricing certainly seem a bit astronomical.
