HTC to make Blinkfeed Available for other Android Devices

HTC introduced Blinkfeed last year with Sense 5.0. It is basically a content aggregator that lives besides your desktop and allows you a quick access to all your subscribed feeds or content sources. While announcing the HTC One M8, HTC also announced massive improvements to the Blinkfeed. The blinkfeed now allows you to aggregate a lot more content as well as subscribe to
content by URL. HTC also announced intentions of teaming up with content providers such as Foursquare among others. HTC also announced the intentions to open up the API of Blinkfeed to devs so they could help them realise the full potential of the service. Not just this, HTC is expected to bring the app other smartphones too, preferably running Android Kitkat 4.4 and above sometime in the coming months. HTC said in a statement, “Following its popularity with HTC users, HTC will now make HTC BlinkFeed available to otherAndroid devices, launching on the Google Play store soon”

The Blinkfeed app although currently on Play Store cannot be downloaded yet. This definitely supports the theory that HTC wants to open up the opportunity to update Blinkfeed and other components of Sense 6.0 directly from Google Play. No release date of the same has been disclosed yet.
