Goodreads is a website where users can browse through the vast collection of books and get recommendations from friends about what to read. The website uses Google as the default search engine to search for your books and gives you an overview of what the book you are searching for is about so you can
decide for yourself whether to read the book or not.
You can register to the website by creating an account there or by simply logging in using your Facebook or Twitter account. Once you have logged in, you can invite your friends from other social networking sites to join. You will be asked to select the categories of books that you are most interested in like Crime, Mystery, Suspense, Science Fiction etc. Simply select the categories which you would like to browse for books.
The website is easy to navigate around and you can browse through the collection easily as they are all separated by categories and based on your interests, you can track the books you want to read and mark the ones that you want. You can even recommend books to your friends.
The website even holds monthly contest which you can enter and stand a chance to win some books.
Goodreads is probably the best place to get recommendations for books as the recommendations are not based on how many of them have been sold but is purely based on the content.
