In Firefox browser when you click on any link present in the current page to open it in a new tab, Firefox doesn’t switch to newly open tab immediately. This is a nice feature of Firefox to those who don’t want to jump to newly opened page.
Suppose you are reading any article and you got an interesting link inside it. You open a link in a new tab but before watching the new page, you want to complete your article first. In this case Firefox default feature come in handy. It opens a page in a new tab but doesn’t switch to it and let you complete the article first.
But what if you don’t want to wait for the article. You want to switch immediately to newly opened tab. You can do this by modifying the setting inside Firefox.
To change the setting go to Tools> Options. Click on Tab section. Now check the box next to “When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately”.
That’s it. You are done. Now whenever you will click on any link on the current page to open it in a new tab, Firefox will immediately switch to it.
Note: Jump to newly open tab is the default feature in Google Chrome and Firefox 3.5.
