Apple has recently been releasing fairly quick updates regarding bug fixing after the initial launch of iOS 5. It took a lot of time for the hackers to figure out the way to jailbreak iOS 5 and it was a massive news when it finally did happen. Apple did upgrade the OS and since then there has been no news for the new jailbreak. However, there seem to be light at the end of dark tunnel as Absinthe 2.0 is very close to release. Pod2g has confirmed on his Twitter feed that the jailbreak is at its final stages and should be out very soon however, there was no exact date given.
There was also a video online that showed the working of Absinthe 2.0 . The video was private soon but the consensus is that it is very similar to that of the process used in Absinthe 1.0. The devices that would be supported by this jailbreak would be:
Phone 3GS
iPhone 4
iPhone 4 CDMA
iPhone 4S
iPad 1
iPad 2 Wifi
iPad 2 GSM
iPad 2 CDMA
iPad 3 Wifi
iPad 3 CDMA
iPod 3G
iPod 4G
The surprise inclusion on the list is definitely the second gen of Apple TV which should be supported even though it hasnt been tested yet. You can read everything you wanted to know about the latest jailbreak here for a more detailed information.
